| Wine: | Highfield Estate Riesling 2002 |
| Country of Origin: | Marlborough, New Zealand |
| Our thoughts: |
A stunning Riesling with bottle age, bursting with citrus aroma and ripe Elderflower, cracking biting acidity and a long fresh finish. Carefully cellared prior to release, this wine has citrus and floral aromas leading to intensifying and developing mineral and lime flavours. Although it has spent two years in the bottle prior to release, the wine still looks young and fresh, and will surely benefit from further ageing. |

Our thoughts: |
Pale straw coloured wine that is clean and crisp on the nose with hints of grass, citrus and ripe tropical fruit and floral notes. Fresh and powerful on the palate with a well balanced blend of citrus, ripe tropical fruits; passion fruit and pineapple, and grassy herbal flavours. Good acidity and a long refreshing finish.
Nepenthe Wines harvest the fruit after midnight taking advantage of the cool night and quickly transport it to the winery for pressing. The majority of the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks with a small proportion fermented in French oak barriques on lees for 2 - 3 months. An intensive selection process is then undertaken to assemble the final wine.
Enjoy young and chilled. Ideal on its own or with fresh seafood or goat’s cheese. |
