Jansz Premier Cuvee NV (12.5% abv)

Country of Origin:

Tasmania, Australia

Our thoughts

The Jansz Tasmania Non Vintage Premium Cuvée is pale gold in colour, with
persistent fine mousse. The lifted nose displays honeysuckle and citrus notes
from Tasmanian Chardonnay, the tirage age contributes aromas of nougat and
roasted nuts, while the Pinot Noir fruit shows delicate strawberry.

The palate is well balanced with delicate fruit flavours, creaminess from the
fine bead mousse and fresh acid. The wine finishes dry and light, with lingering
flavours of citrus and nougat

An elegant, balanced and refined Sparkling wine from a relatively small vineyard where they grow, press and vinify the grapes themselves.

Rich yet delicate New World Sparkling Wine which is lovingly made from the harmonious blend of Chardonnay (51%) and Pinot Noir (49%) and aged in bottle for around 2 years.  It is  crisp, dry and pale gold in colour with fine persistent bubbles and a creamy mousse.  The nose follows through to the palate revealing supple and well balanced and refined delicate fruit; apple, stone fruit and strawberry, with citrus and floral notes with a lovely toasty slightly nougat and nutty long finish.

If you’re after something that is good quality and value with a bit more individuality, this is a great alternative to Champagne and the major brands.

Ridgeview Estate’s Grosvenor Blanc de Blancs 2007 (12% abv)

Country of Origin:

Sussex, United Kingdom

Our thoughts:

Ridgeview Estate is a relative newcomer with increasing kudos and this sparkling wine was awarded Gold by Decanter World Wine Awards in 2011 in the £10+ category despite being up against hundreds of illustrious other Champagnes and sparkling wines and further promoting England as a source of world class sparkling wine.

This stunning and elegant well-balanced and structured sparkling wine is crisp, dry, pale gold in colour with fine persistent bubbles and an outstanding creamy mousse.  The nose follows through to the palate revealing supple well balanced and refined delicate white tropical fruit, citrus and floral notes with a lovely honey, brioche and toasty long finish.

This excellent Chardonnay sparkling wine is drinking now or can age 3 to 4 years.

If you’re after something that is great quality at superb value for money, this is a great alternative to Champagne and the major brands.

Serve chilled and enjoy on its own or perhaps with canapés or shellfish.
