Our thoughts: |
An elegant and refined Champagne from a small premier cru vineyard owned by the Jean Dumangin family in Chigny-Les-Roses, Reims, where they grow, press and vinify the grapes themselves.
This rich yet delicate Champagne is lovingly and passionately made from the harmonious blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier (split around third each) and aged in bottle for 3 years, well above the minimum requirement. It is dry and pale gold in colour with fine persistent bubbles and a creamy mousse. The nose follows through to the palate revealing supple and well balanced and refined dried green and stone fruit with floral notes and a lovely toasty slightly nutty finish.
If you’re after something that is good quality and value with a bit more individuality, this Champagne is a great alternative to the major brands.
